The City of Branson

The City of Branson straddles the counties of Taney and Stone in the U.S. state of Missouri. Most of the city is in Taney County, with a small percentage in the west extending into Stone County. Branson is situated in the Ozark Mountains Ranges. The city was named after Reuben Branson, a postmaster, and operator of a general store in the area in the 1880s. The 2019 estimated population was 11,630. The city’s total land area is 21.32 sq mi (55.22 km2), including the 0.15 sq mi (0.39 km2) of water.
